20th Miss Jubilee Pageant
The National Voting Rights Museum and Institute will host the 21st annual “Miss Jubilee Pageant”, on Thursday, February 27, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. at Pickard Auditorium located at 1000 Selma Avenue, Selma, AL. The pageant is for young ladies all over the country between the ages of 13-18 years of age.
Contestants are judged on the opening scene, communication skills, talent, and stage presence. There is a first, second, and third place winner and also a talent winner for this competition. The contestants are awarded trophies, monetary prizes and an opportunity to be featured in the Children Sojourn and Jubilee Step Show on Friday, February 28, 2020 the Parade and Freedom Flame Banquet on Saturday, February 29, 2020, and the Breakfast and March on Sunday, March 1, 2020.
The contestants’ formal wear can be provided by “Just for Babies”, co-sponsor of this event; however, you may choose to wear your own formal in this category, Just for Babies is located at 1223 Alabama Avenue, Selma, AL. All contestants must have a long dress, a casual outfit, black leggings, black t-shirt and tennis shoes for the opening scene and a talent performance. If you are chosen as one of the winners, you will also need to wear your formal attire in the Jubilee parade on Saturday.
